OUR STORY

How The Authentic Pastor Began

Tim Eldred spent over three decades in ministry — pastor's kid, youth leader, senior pastor, you name it. He walked with thousands of pastors, taught them, trained them, watched them pour everything into their calling. But a few years back, he hit a wall. Not a crisis or moral failure. Just the slow wear and tear that happens when you give everything to ministry without knowing how to sustain yourself in it. He was burning out.

He looked for help. Conferences offered growth strategies. Books offered productivity tips. Retreats offered temporary rest. But nothing addressed the actual problem — the patterns making ministry unsustainable in the first place. What he needed didn't exist. So he built it.

The Authentic Pastor started as one man's answer to a problem he couldn't find help for. It's grown into a team of experienced ministry leaders who believe pastors and churches deserve something better. Today, that team works with leaders at every stage — not just the ones in survival mode, but the ones who are leading well and want to go further. The problems are different. The approach is the same.

WHOLECARE

What Makes Us Different?

Most resources treat symptoms — and after decades of working with pastors and churches, we kept seeing the same thing. A church in conflict wasn't just a communication breakdown. A stagnant ministry wasn't just a strategy problem. Everything was connected.

So we developed WholeCare — a framework built specifically for ministry leaders that looks at your life, your leadership, and your ministry as one integrated whole. It starts with the person and works outward into the systems, structures, and culture of the ministry you lead.

Health & Wellness

Sustainable ministry starts with a healthy leader. Pastors learn to evaluate and care for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, building the personal foundation that everything else depends on.

Embracing Identity

Who you are matters more than what you do. Core values, self-image, and leading from identity rather than title aren't soft topics. They're the difference between performing ministry and living it.

Strategic Planning

Leaders learn to align their calendar, goals, and decisions with their actual mission. Establishing healthy boundaries and sustainable rhythms is what turns good intentions into a ministry that functions well.

Authentic Leadership

People follow who you are, not just what you say. Practicing transparency, vulnerability, and building self-awareness aren't signs of weakness. They're what makes your leadership trustworthy over time.

Team Collaboration

Ministry is a team effort. Roles get clarified, outcomes get defined, and a collaborative culture where people do their best work becomes something you can intentionally develop. That doesn't happen by accident.

Legacy & Longevity

The best leaders think beyond today. Mentoring future leaders, planning for succession, and building a ministry with the health and structure to outlast your tenure is what long-term faithfulness actually looks like.

These aren't separate programs. They're the lenses we bring to every coaching session, every cohort, and every consulting engagement.
A leadership challenge, a staffing issue, a personal struggle, a church in transition — whatever comes up gets looked at through the full framework.
